The December 9 will be held at the Capitol Theatre the V edition of the National Awards for Electronic Music

The «Vicious Music Awards by Corona» reveal the nominees for 22 of the 31 categories, for who opens the voting period for the Public.

The December 9 at the Capitol Theatre from Madrid will take place the V edition of the National Awards for Electronic Music «Vicious Music Awards»; founded and organized since 2011 by the communication group Vicious Media with support from CORONA.

The «Vicious Music Awards» are an annual contest that purpose is to give value to all professionals working in different areas of the electronic music industry at the national level.

The primary mission of the «Vicious Music Awards» is to recognize those professionals in the industry of electronic music who have excelled, in any category, for the work done over the last year (from October to October).

Among the objectives, “Vicious Music Awards» facilitate individual recognition to the best professionals in each area, promote the idiosyncrasies of the «electronic music industry» against other music industries, and support it approaching the society in a positive way, making visible among others, its huge cultural and economic values.

One of the peculiarities of the «Vicious Music Awards» is that they are granted taking into account the Audience Criterion (Public Vote), and the criteria of a wide representation of journalists from specialized media in different categories (Jury Vote).

Among the nominees along with the producers and DJs, the «Vicious Music Awards» set categories to recognize the best promoters, dedicated radio programs, vocals, labels, clubs, festivals, beach clubs, etc…. sample of the wide range of professionals working in this industry

THE ISSUE OF CONSOLIDATION

No doubt this V edition is the consolidation of this unique event in the electronic music industry at the national level.

In this edition, the awards by «Vicious Music Awards Corona” are comprised of 31 categories among which are:

2 categories of Public Vote
20 categories Public Voting / Jury
8 categories of Jury Vote
1 category of Direct Award.

As new for this edition, the «Vicious Music Awards» decide to give more importance to public opinion, and assessment and, therefore, the section of Public Vote becomes more important than in previous editions, adding the 70% vote of all categories and also created new categories like Best Female Artist and Best Aftermovie.

In all the categories of the artists of Public Vote (except for Favourite Male Artist and Favourite Female Artist, which they are awarded directly as decided by the vote of the public) the process that will take place in selecting the winner shall be as follows: among all the nominees the public will choose with their votes to four finalists, leaving a fifth for the jury selection.

Once selected the five finalists, a specialized jury, formed by a group of specialists journalists in electronic music based in Spain, among those who will be found Members of the Vicious Media, will be responsible for choosing the winners. The journalists will vote in the categories of which they are specialists.

Those Nominees to the categories Jury Voting will be published on Monday, November 9. In these categories is included Best Artist, Best DJ, Best Producer, Best Visual Artist, Best Live, Best New Artist, Best record label and Best Track.

VOTING PERIOD OPENS TO THE PUBLIC:

From October 28 to November 22 the public voting period opens.
Nominations have been made by Vicious Media Team, considering different factors according to each category and referring to the achievements between October 2014 and September 30, 2015.
Within the categories referring to Artists, it has mainly been considered its performances, productions, national and international impact and its evolution over the past year.
For all other categories, it has been rated factors as the quality, impact, professionalism and innovation, and other specific elements of each category.

In total the V edition of the «Vicious Music Awards» will fail thirty awards, plus the «Vicious Honour Award» granted directly by Vicious to a professional in the industry for their contribution, projection and expansion regarding quality and professionalism, in the industry of electronic music.

The winners of the 31 categories will be announced the day of the awards ceremony during the gala next December 9 at the Capitol Theatre. With this system, Vicious Music Awards offer a broad perspective, contrasted and plural of the current situation of the Industry, by rewarding with target recognition its main protagonists.
