Inspirado en la familia de instrumentos acústicos HandPans, Oval permite total libertad para crear sonidos y es una herramienta enfocada al aprendizaje y la interpretación musical.

Hay más maneras de disfrutar de la música a parte de escuchar. Nadie es demasiado joven ni demasiado mayor para experimentar la increíble sensación de tocar un instrumento y crear música. Creemos que aprender música debe ser divertido y que cualquiera puede tocar un instrumento inmediatamente. Oval acelera el aprendizaje musical, impulsado por la tecnología, el juego y compartir con los demás.

Ovalsound se fundó en 2014 por Ravid Goldschmidt y Alex Posada en Barcelona (España) y se centra en ofrecer a todos aquellos con inquietud, la oportunidad de encontrar una manera de expresarse musicalmente, desafiando los límites de la música tradicional hacía las nuevas formas de interacción.

La mayoría de instrumentos tradicionales son lineales, como una guitarra, una flauta o un violín. El handpan está hecho para ser tocado en círculos. La interfaz no tiene ni principio ni fin, de manera que las notas pueden enlazarse de una manera fluida. Las notas tienen una posición radial y son equidistantes del Ding, la nota central que marca el tono de la escala. No importa como toques, siempre puedes interpretar melodías bonitas.

Oval toma el diseño, ergonomía y cualidades musicales de los handpans como punto de inspiración para crear un instrumento electrónico que puede ser tan simple como para que un principiante empiece a explorar la música como medio de expresión; y tan complejo como un músico profesional quiere que sea, ya que permite cambiar sonidos y escalas, realizar capas de samples, looping en tiempo real y llevarlo donde te lleve la espiral de la imaginación.

Ovalsound was founded in 2014 by Ravid Goldschmidt and Alex Posada in Barcelona (Spain), to provide everyone with the opportunity to find a way to express themselves musically, pushing the boundaries of traditional music to new ways of interaction.

Most traditional instruments are linear, think of a guitar, a flute or a violin. The handpan is meant to be performed in circles. The interface doesn’t have a beginning or an end, so you can join musical notes together in a fluid way. The notes have a radial position and are equidistant from the Ding, the central note that sets the tone of the scale. No matter how you play, you are able to perform beautiful melodies every time.

The Oval takes the design, ergonomics and musical qualities of the handpans as an inspiration to create an electronic instrument that can be as simple for a beginner to start exploring music as a means of expression, and as complex as a professional musician wants to make it, as it allows to change sounds and scales, layer samples, real time looping and go wherever the imagination takes you.
